About 500 top athletes (A to D/C-Class) in excess of more than 30 Olympic sports - approximately 15% of all German top athletes - form the high-performance sport potential of the OSC (Olympic Support Center) Berlin.

The OSC offers an integrated support with regard to sports medicine, physiotherapy, training science, sports psychology, and social environment to all elite athletes of the federal capital. About 100 coaches, thereof more than 30 employed directly at the OSC, attend the athletes at the highest level in daily training.

47 Berlin elite athletes participated in the Summer Olympics 2012 in London additionally 21 elite athletes participated in the Summer Paralympic Games 2012 in London. The metropolitans could achieve seven gold, twelve silver and three bronze medals.
